It Finally Happened!

I promised I wouldn’t….

…. but I have to say one more thing on the whole Clemens/McNamee steroids things. Here is a little bit on an article posted on si.com:

“Roger Clemens crisscrossed Capitol Hill, hoping a handshake and a smile would help his cause. His accuser, Brian McNamee, brought two photos showing syringes and vials and even a crumpled beer can in a bid to bolster his side of the story.”

The only way that these photos work as evidence is if they comprise a wide shot of McNamee holding a GIANT needle labeled STEROIDS right next to Roger Clemens’ ass with Clemens’ social security card stapled on his left buttock. Otherwise, this is all a waste of time. Photographic evidence may be the most circumstantial thing to bring up, because there is no way a baseball player is going to say “cheese” while getting a needle in the ass. Taking a photo of the needle afterwards doesn’t imply anything. I can take a photo of a gun and say that person X killed someone with it but that doesn’t make it true, nor can you draw any conclusions about the gun other than its appearance. Now, I PROMISE this will be the last time I bring this up until the case is resolved.

Here are the two pictures in question:

Clearly DEVASTATING evidence.

Eric Gordon returns to Illinois

# 13 Indiana (19-3) – 83 Illinois (10-14) – 79

VIDEO HIGHLIGHTS

And a basketball game ensued. I though that they were just gonna boo Gordon for about 10 minutes and then just let Indiana roll over them. I was wrong, and Illinois played a heck of a game, with their own freshman guard McCamey playing out of his mind and scoring 31 points to keep them game close. Plus, Illinois had the game won at the end of regulation AND the first OT, but Pruitt totally froze up and missed 4 free throws that could’ve won the game. More on Eric Gordon after the jump. NBA Double Dribble 2/8/08

3 games on the schedule last night and only the Cavs v Rockets looked interesting on paper:

Cavs (27-21) – 77 Rockets (29-20) – 92

LeBron James played great again(32, 7, 6) but he only got help from Big Z as the rest of the Cavs supporting cast (what’s left) just didn’t show up. Not only that, but Daniel Gibson left the game with a hammy injury during the 4th Quarter. If this injury turns out to be serious, the Cavs will have next to nobody left coming off the bench. The Cavs would like NEED to make a trade to make them competitive come playoff time. The Rockets continue to make a push to get into the playoffs with strong play from Yao and the supporting cast. T-Mac played terrible, but he did spend the whole day in the hospital for the flu. The Rockets are 1-0 in the Year of the Rat (look it up).
