It Finally Happened!

In a trade that felt like it took a month, Erik Bedard has been traded to the Seattle Mariners for 5 prospects.

Mariners get:

Erik Bedard – SP

Orioles get:

Adam Jones – OF
George Sherrill – RP
Chris Tillman – P
Tony Butler – P
Kam Mickolio- P

This trade gives Seattle a pretty formidable rotation (King Felix, Washbourn, Silva, Batista, Bedard) , and I would even go as far as saying it makes them co-favorites in the AL West considering the Angels didn’t get much better. The O’s get a good deal back from Seattle, since they didn’t have any interest in keeping Bedard for the long term. It looks like Adam Jones will start in Center for the O’s on day one. Now that this trade is done, I can finally start my AL West preview! Stay tuned!
