NBA Double Dribble 2/13/08
Boston Celtics (40-9) – 104 Indiana Pacers (21-31) – 97
Boston continues to play well despite being without KG. Rajon Rondo has really picked up his all around game since KG has been down, and Pierce has taken over as a dominate force on the offensive end. Maybe it’s just me, but I think the Celts playing so well without KG is killing any chance Garnett has at the MVP. Pierce is really what makes that team go. On top of that, LBJ is single handedly winning every game in Cleveland while 3/5 of the starting lineup is out with injury.
Denver Nuggets (32-19) – 114 Miami Heat (9-41) – 113 F/OT
After just pummeling the Cavs on Sunday, the Nuggets squeeze out a win in OT against the rejuvenated Heat. I know that Miami looks terrible right now, but the addition of Shawn Marion may bring about a culture change that is sorely needed in Miami. Dorell Wright might turn out to be a pretty good player for the Heat, and it looks like the Heat will have high pick in the draft too. We may be looking at a very quick turn around in Miami land. On the Nuggets side, J.R. Smith went 8 of 14 from beyond the the 3 point line. In his last game against the Cavs, he was 6 of 11 from beyond the arc. That is a ridiculous 14 of 25 (56%). J.R. might be the streakiest shooter in the NBA.
