*Update* The whole Barry Bonds thing at the beginning? Funny story. Turns out some fool made a “typo” which led to the belief that Barry Bonds tested positive for steroids. Read the full article here. I’m pretty sure I heard a collective “Awwww man” from the media. And I’m sure ESPN’s Pedro Gomez was already on a plane to wherever Bonds was.
Devean George defends himself
What the hell is up with “it is what it is”? Phrase of the month?
Don’t make Devean George the bad guy. He is doing what is best for him, and the Mavs should have contacted him before the trade to see if he was going to block the trade or not. If you look into the Larry Bird rights, it would seem that any NBA player in George’s position would have done the same thing.
Anyone else thirsty for some Vitamin water?
NBA Double Dribble 2/14/08
Welcome to a special edition of NBA Double Dribble. Since it is Valentine’s day, there will be no negative comments made about any team I talk about. Instead, there will be much love given to these special teams.
San Antonio Spurs (34-17) – 112 Cleveland Cavaliers (29-23) – 105
The Cavs scored 105 with a bunch of scrubs guys that try really hard and still lost. There should be an investigation! Of course, it doesn’t help that the NBA gods granted Manu Ginobili near perfection from the 3 point line where he went 8 of 11 and 15 for 20 from the field overall. His 46 points were 2 shy of a career high. LeBron did all he could do, scoring 18 of his 39 in the 4th Quarter, but those damn excellent Spurs scored 41 points in the 4th to pull away with a win.
Clemens & McNamee sittin’ in a tree
The dust has settle in the aftermath of the Clemens/McNamee Congressional hearing. So what does it all mean?

Chad Johnson is staying in Cincinnati… but why?
It appears all that talk about Chad Johnson being shipped to the Washington Redskins is bogus, not matter how much Chad Johnson may want a trade. But when you step back and look at the Bengals situation… trading Chad Johnson makes sense.
